Description
Richard Lacroix was born on July 14, 1939, in Montreal, Canada. He is known as a Canadian engraver, painter, and sculptor. Lacroix gained recognition for Canadian printmaking and was instrumental in founding the Atelier Libre in 1964, which was the first printshop in Canada to provide printmaking facilities to contemporary artists, as well as the Guilde Graphique in 1966. He studied etching, lithography, serigraphy, and wood engraving in Montreal under the guidance of Albert Dumouchel.
With his diverse talents, Lacroix has made significant contributions to the art world, and his artworks have been featured in various exhibitions and auctions. His dedication to printmaking and his innovative approach to contemporary art have solidified his place as a prominent figure in the Canadian art scene.
